Mostly no crowding at Mandai Columbarium on first day of Qing Ming

SINGAPORE - It was not the usual first day of the Qing Ming Festival, with mostly no large crowds at the Mandai Columbarium this year.
Each floor of the eight blocks had about 10 people or less, with many families well spaced out and no big groups of people gathered when the Straits Times visited at around 1pm on Sunday (April 4).

During the pandemic, most people’s are concerned over crowding and probably avoided Mandai over safety concern. Believe most people go to the temples instead to offer their prayers.
