March 27 (Reuters) - Audi will ⁠replace Jonathan Wheatley as principal of the Formula One team after ⁠his unexpected departure, the head of the German carmaker's F1 ‌project Mattia Binotto said on Friday.

The team announced last week that the Briton had left the Swiss-based team for personal reasons, with former Ferrari boss Binotto adding the role ​of principal to his other duties.
