On Feb 9, 2024, Nurshafira Ariana Norazmi was run over by a taxi when crossing Bukit Panjang Road at the junction with Gangsa Road. She was 9 years old when it happened. The green man signal was on. Yet the taxi went over the crossing and over Nurshafira. Amazingly, Nurshafira was quickly back on her feet, even though she had suffered multiple injuries, including a deep wound to her left arm. With traffic deaths hitting a 10-year high of 149 in 2025, ST will be running stories and videos to urge all road users to be responsible on the road. Nurshafira and her father have chosen to talk about the incident in public for the first time.
