NASA news: Space agency celebrates as solar observatory discovers 4,000th comet
On June 15, an amateur astronomer spotted a brand-new comet nicknamed SOHO-4000, pending its official designation from the Minor Planet Center. As with most other SOHO-discovered comets, SOHO-4000 was identified as part of the Kreutz family of sungrazers.
