21 Feb - Nabila Razali recently admitted that she began to realise that she has an alter ego as soon as she put on her waterlily costume in the recently-concluded season four of "The Masked Singer Malaysia".

The 32-year-old singer, who won fifth place in the competition, in which contestants' identities were kept a secret until the end of the show, said that she was able to showcase a different side of herself as "Teratai" and perform songs that she would usually feel uncomfortable singing on stage.

"This time, I got to dance and be cheeky on stage. Things that I have never done before," she said. "My fans always think of me as a 'sweet girl', so by wearing the mascot, I was able to explore a different side of Nabila Razali."

Nabila got to perform freely as her alter ego Teratai

The singer is also happy that netizens, especially those who have criticised her for her supposed limited vocal capabilities, are finally opening their eyes to what she can actually do.

"I think I hadn't been truly able to showcase my ability in the past, though sometimes I would make mistakes when given the chance. I would like to credit my vocal coach, Shafiq Eerwin who helped me become a better singer," she added.

Now that the show is over, Nabila said that she hopes to be able to perform more songs that are of different genres than what she has been singing all this while.

Stacy Anam was announced the winner of season four of the reality show, though it was comedians Namie and Danial Zain who surprised many with their talents, as they won second and third place.
