Negri polls: Parti Berjasa’s Zamani unveils five pledges for Nilai voters
SEREMBAN: Parti Berjasa president Zamani Ibrahim has pledged more schools, affordable homes and a public hospital for Nilai as he campaigns for the Aug 1 state seat.
Zamani launched the five-point document “Tekad & Tawaran Zamani Ibrahim: Demi Rakyat DUN N10 Nilai” during a townhall streamed live on his Facebook page on Saturday night.
His offers span education, housing, transport, health and industry.
On education, he promised more schools to ease overcrowded classrooms and an aid scheme for the B40 group, while pitching Nilai as a world-class education hub anchored by USIM, INTI-Nilai University and Politeknik Nilai.
On housing, Zamani said he would push for more affordable homes through a Nilai-Seremban housing corridor and shield older villages from unplanned development. He also pledged to ease congestion along the Pajam-Nilai-Salak road, improve KTM services and press for a Nilai Hospital to be built without delay.
On industry, he said business and jobs in the fast-growing township should go to locals rather than be “monopolised by outsiders or foreign workers”, citing planned projects including a green data and artificial intelligence centre.
Zamani said Nilai enjoyed rapid development but suffered “value leakage”, with local wages too low to support families.
He also cast his candidacy around Malay-Muslim unity, saying such voters deserved a credible candidate of their own.
Nilai is one of two five-cornered contests in the polls.
Zamani faces incumbent J. Arul Kumar of Pakatan Harapan, who has held the fast-growing seat since 2013, along with Barisan Nasional’s Lai Chien Kong, Bersatu’s V. Saravana Kumar and independent Omar Mohd Isa.
