I feel that the candidates spouse should be a non factor in choosing a suitable presidential candidate, what is important is his/her merit.Even if that is not the case, the word blue blooded focuses on authentic blood lineage Personally I think loyalty to the country and camaraderie with our people should be the real hallmark of being a Singaporean. Thus this won't affect my decision making, that being said I still won't vote for Tharman because I am skeptical of ownself check ownself

I dont see a problem with a president or first lady not born in singapore. Its not their choice. Vote tharman

I agree this time that TKL should not have gone for the Singapore born wife angle. It's not too his advantage. Tharman's wife was here since 3 and she's as Singaporean as one can be. The one main reason TKL can fight on is he's the least PAP linked candidate. If we are voting for a more independent President, then he's the best option. Frankly, he's not the strongest but our choices are limited by the rules set by PAP. So play by their rules and vote for the only independent 1 that slipped thru.
