Nicola Peltz is looking back on her “intense” wedding day amid rumors of an ongoing rift with her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham.

Nicola, who married Victoria’s oldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, in April 2022, reflected on her big day in a June 2 cover story with Glamour, alongside her husband.

“Someone gave us this advice and I’m so glad we listened: Take a moment during [your wedding] day just for the two of you. Step away, breathe, be together. Those were my favorite moments,” the 30-year-old actress recalled of their lavish day at her family’s sprawling Palm Beach estate, where they hosted guests like Serena Williams and Eva Longoria.

“Weddings can be intense, especially when you’re busy making sure everyone else is having fun. That little break reminded us what it’s really about: us,” Nicola said.

“I totally agree,” Brooklyn, 26, added. “After the ceremony, find time to disappear for a second. We took a quick drive, just the two of us. It was perfect.”

For years, the couple has been fielding rumors about a rift between them and Brooklyn’s family, which have only intensified in recent months.

In August 2022, Nicola shut down speculation that she and Victoria had fallen out after she wore a Valentino couture gown instead of one designed by her mother-in-law. “I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress,” Nicola told Variety. “She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”

However, People reignited this rumor at the end of May, with a source claiming in a May 30 article that Nicola and Victoria did fall out over the wedding dress after it became apparent to the bride that her mother-in-law was not prioritizing making the gown. People reported that, in the end, Victoria called Nicola’s mother to inform her she could no longer make the dress, instead of speaking directly to her son’s bride.

“Nicola was painted as a brat for not wearing Victoria Beckham at the wedding,” a source said. “She’d gone to a ton of Victoria Beckham fashion shows and events in Victoria’s clothing. She even wore Victoria Beckham to her Lola movie premiere.”

However, another source denied the rumor. “A quick Google search will show how many times this pointless story has been recycled to try and paint Nicola as somehow a victim,” that source said. “As ever, the Beckhams have stayed above it all despite constant attacks through the media. It’s sad as they love their son and they have all tried so hard with Nicola but it’s become impossible.”

Also on May 30, People reported that Nicola was left “in tears” on her wedding day after Beckham family friend Marc Anthony called Victoria “the most beautiful woman in the room tonight” and welcomed her up to dance with her son during a wedding day performance that was supposed to be a gift to the newlywed couple.

Nicola allegedly “felt that Victoria ruined her wedding, and couldn’t understand why.”

The resurfaced speculation about Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding comes amid an alleged larger feud with other members of the Beckham family. Brooklyn is allegedly not on speaking terms with his younger brother, Romeo, after the 22-year-old model started dating Kim Turnbull, whom Brooklyn was once linked to.

Brooklyn and Nicoladid not attend the celebrations for David Beckham’s 50th birthday, adding fuel to rumors. However, no one in the Beckham family has explicitly addressed the claims.
