Nicole Kidman debuted a fiery new look days after making headlines for an alleged wig mishap at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

The 57-year-old actress posed on Allure’s May 2025 cover with a dramatic red wig cropped into a bob with harsh bangs, a bold switch up from the blonde hair we’re used to seeing her with.

In other photos from the shoot, Kidman’s wig was cropped even shorter, ending just below her ears. She posed in a plush, blue setting and showed off her long legs in a silky hot pink mini dress with a high leg slit and metallic pink shoes.

The Allure shoot comes days after the Nine Perfect Strangers star made headlines for an alleged wig malfunction the 2025 Kering Women In Motion Awards in Cannes. Page Six claimed that photos showed that Kidman was wearing a lace-front wig that was pinned along her natural hairline but not adequately blended with her natural color.

Kidman is no stranger to wearing wigs. She often dons dramatic new looks for her characters and even admitted to wearing a wig after stepping out with short hair at the 2025 Met Gala. In a May 21 interview with Australian network Channel Seven’s “Sunrise,” Kidman addressed her Met Gala cut, confirming it was a wig by saying, “Everyone’s like, ‘Did you chop your hair off?’ I’m like, ‘No, I did not.'”
