Nina Dobrev and Shaun White‘s “mutual” breakup is causing fans to resurface old rumors about the snowboarder’s alleged infidelities.

On Thursday, September 11, People reported that the pair had ended their relationship after 5 years together. A source close to the pair claimed “it was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.”

White and Dobrev have yet to comment on the claims but that hasn’t stopped speculation from brewing online. Reddit users were quick to cite long-held speculation that White has been unfaithful in his relationship.

A 2022 Deux Moi post believed to be written about Dobrev and White claimed that “everyone’s favorite snowboarder has been unfaithful.” It continued, “He’s been seen on dating apps and DM’ing girls.”

“He also had a night to remember while abroad last February,” the post added.

Dobrev and White have never addressed the cheating allegations. The couple started dating in 2019, after White ended his relationship with Sarah Barthel, whom he dated from 2013 until 2019.

White and Dobrev confirmed their relationship via Instagram in April 2020, revealing they were living together amid COVID-19 lockdowns. The former couple got engaged in October 2024.

Six months before their split, Dobrev revealed they hadn’t started wedding planning. “I really want to enjoy it and not rush that process,” she told E! News in March. “We’re just enjoying being engaged at this point and being in that sort of phase because a lot of your life is—you have a boyfriend for half of your life and then you have a husband for half of your life, but the fiancé period is very short.”

The pair were last photographed together on August 31 while running errands in Los Angeles.
