“Singapore’s politics must be for Singaporeans alone to decide”, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, in response to coordinated online activity by foreign actors urging Singaporeans to vote according to religious lines in the coming General Elections. He further emphasised the need to reject identity politics, which could lead to fractures within society. He noted that this is not a partisan matter, but an issue of national significance.
