No reports of Nipah virus in S’pore; airports to screen visitors from affected places

SINGAPORE – Singapore is stepping up vigilance in response to the Nipah virus outbreak in the Indian state of West Bengal, which has triggered a high alert in health authorities in the region.
The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) said in a statement on Jan 28 that no cases of the virus have been detected here and that it is monitoring the situation closely.
