PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri brought her campaign to a glorious end by winning the women's elite 500m time trial event at the Asian Track Cycling Championships in New Delhi, India on Monday (Feb 26).

The 20-year-old stood tall in only her third Asian championships campaign by romping to her second gold medal in New Delhi in as many days after clocking 34.388s in the final at Indira Gandhi Velodrome.

Nurul Izzah had claimed gold in the women's keirin final on Sunday and thus brought her tally to four in New Delhi.

She claimed silver in the team sprint event and bronze in the individual sprint last week.

South Korea's Hwang Hyeon-seo, who clocked 34.802s in her final run, took silver, while bronze went to Luo Shuyan of China, who posted 34.958s.

Nurul Izzah had claimed gold in the women's keirin final on Sunday (Feb 25).

It is the second time in three years that she won the 500m time trial event at the Asian meet.

She made a stunning debut in the Asian championships at the same venue in 2022 by winning the 500m time trial event.

Nurul Izzah was the fastest qualifier into the final, with 34.442s ahead of Hyeon-seo (34.898s).
