SETIA ALAM: TikTok Shop records over 100 million product searches daily in Malaysia.
The e-commerce platform announced this yesterday at an industry engagement event in Setia City Convention Centre here, which brought together thousands of local businesses, content creators and e-commerce partners.
TikTok Shop Malaysia strategic partnerships director Nur Azre Abdul Aziz said the platform saw a growing number of Malaysians turning to TikTok Shop not just for "product discovery", but also for "intentional shopping".
"As consumer confidence deepens, we have observed a shift in shopping behaviour where users are increasingly relying on TikTok Shop for both inspiration and direct purchases.

"Our full-funnel e-commerce ecosystem is uniquely designed to empower entrepreneurs, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and homegrown brands by connecting them with a nationwide audience through engaging, shoppable content," she said.
At the summit, TikTok Shop unveiled several new tools aimed at helping sellers and creators grow their businesses.
These include the GMV Max automation tool, Affiliate Creatives for Ads (ACA), opportunity centre, arrival discount promotions, product data synchronisation, affiliate link feature and the Star Creator badge.
Nur Azre said the platform also showcased a miniature high-tech studio, where trainers and sellers can conduct training and produce high-quality live streams using an all-in-one device to improve conversion rates.
"The platform also highlighted recent features, such as 30-day free returns for TikTok Shop Mall products, the introduction of TikTok PayLater for more flexible payments, and a pilot programme offering next-day delivery in selected areas in Klang Valley, Johor and Penang
"For TikTok PayLater, both communities, which are sellers and buyers, benefit because it offers zero interest for both parties.
"Sellers can receive more orders as buyers are more willing to spend, and with more product choices in the market, buyers tend to have higher average order values," she said.
She said TikTok PayLater had safeguards such as personalised spending limits and affordability checks.
She added that users could look forward to the upcoming TikTok Year-End Sale, as well as the Beli Barangan Malaysia campaign, which promotes local products at affordable prices.
"TikTok Shop's efforts to improve its ecosystem have translated into impressive sales growth.
"The platform recorded a 140 per cent year-on-year (YoY) sales increase during the 6.6 Sale in June, over 100 per cent YoY growth during Ramadan and Raya in March, and more than 90 per cent YoY growth during the Chinese New Year Huat Sale in January."
Nur Azre said TikTok Shop encouraged local businesses to use its tools and resources ahead of the year-end mega sales season.
She added the platform would offer double the number of discount vouchers for shoppers, while brands on TikTok Shop Mall will receive twice the amount of platform support in the second half of 2025.
"Entrepreneurs and businesses interested in joining the platform can register via the TikTok Shop Seller Centre and access step-by-step tutorials through the TikTok Shop Academy."
