Over 800 speeding violations caught by red-light cameras since function activated on April 1

SINGAPORE - In three weeks, more than 800 speeding violations were captured by the speed enforcement function in red-light cameras.
This rate of detection is about three times higher than that of other static fixed speed cameras, based on information from the first three months of 2024, said the Traffic Police (TP) on April 27.

800 speeding violations are caught within three weeks of april. round up to about 100 cases per week, which is rather shocking.

My question is, since the public resources have been utilized to have these facilities installed , why are the department concert not using it fully ? Why do they only start activating it now and realize that there were so many speeding drivers on our public road.
