The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested local preacher Muhammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu for alleged seditious remarks he made regarding the Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman temple in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Sinar Harian, the preacher was arrested in Kangar, Perlis, earlier today because he allegedly insulted the Hindu religion and breached the public peace in a Facebook post.

The Malay publication quoted the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain as saying that the arrest was made following a report lodged by a 62-year-old individual at 6.30am yesterday (26 March).
