KOTA KINABALU: The Public Services Commission (PSD) will decide the next course of action on a Sabah hospital director facing allegations of sexually harassing a subordinate, says Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said the director was removed from his position and reassigned as a medical officer at the state Health Department pending further action after the Health Ministry completed its internal investigation into the allegations.

“We have taken administrative action against the hospital director who has been transferred,” he told reporters after officiating the 2026 Health Ministry Training Institute (ILKKM) Sabah Zone Convocation at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), on Saturday (Aug 15).

Dzulkefly said the department had also submitted an official report on the matter to the PSD for further action within its jurisdiction.

He said that the ministry would not compromise on matters involving the safety and welfare of its staff, including allegations of misconduct.

“MOH will not compromise on issues involving the safety and welfare of our staff,” he added.

He said the alleged victim had been provided with full support and treatment and returned to work.

Dzulkefly was responding to allegations involving a hospital director here who was accused of sexually harassing a female staff member in November last year.

Parti Warisan had raised the issue at the recent state assembly, and the party’s health bureau chief Dr Istefan Koh had urged the ministry to take firm action on the complaint made in 2025.
