Pagoh triple murder: Man claims trial to killing parents, 11-year-old niece
MUAR: An unemployed man charged at the High Court here today with the murder of his parents and 11-year-old niece in Pagoh last year.
Azman Mohamed Nor, 48, who appeared in a wheelchair due to a nerve disorder, claimed trial to all three charges when they were read to him before Judge Suria Kumar DJ Paul during the first mention of the case.
He is accused of murdering his father, Mohamed Nor Mohamed Yassin, 82; his mother, Ara Abd Hamid, 76; and his niece, Noradriana Nor Hasyim, at their home in Jalan Sekolah, Kampung Paya Redan, Pagoh, between 1am and 3am on Aug 9 last year.
The charges fall under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which provides for the mandatory death penalty upon conviction or, alternatively, imprisonment for up to 40 years and not fewer than 12 strokes of the cane.

Deputy public prosecutor Nur Aqiilah Ahmad Rofaie submitted three letters of consent to prosecute, one for each victim.
Azman was not represented.
The prosecution requested a new date for case management, citing incomplete documents, including forensic photographs from the crime scene.
The court fixed Aug 27 for the submission of documents and for the accused to appoint a lawyer.
Azman is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence and has been fined RM5,000 in a separate case involving the assault of another niece.
In the incident last year, his parents were found burned inside the family home, while Noradriana was discovered with severe facial injuries believed to have been caused by a blunt object.
Initially classified as a sudden death case, the investigation was later reclassified as murder following the discovery of injuries on the victims' bodies.
