Panasonic to lay off 10,000 workers in restructuring plan
Panasonic Holdings Corp. plans to lay off 10,000 employees worldwide, nearly 5% of its workforce. This includes 5,000 workers in Japan and 5,000 overseas, with some being offered early retirement.
The restructuring will incur a charge of 130 billion yen (US$895 million) as the company streamlines operations.
