A murderer became tearful as he pleaded guilty to the brutal slaying of a popular lecturer who died in a frenzied knife attack in the street.

Paul Antony Butler, 53, confessed to murdering Claire Chick, 48, following the horrific incident on West Hoe Road in Plymouth on January 22. The mother was stabbed to death during his vicious assault which took place at around 8.55pm.
