Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah's impressive run in the China Open ended after they lost to the home pair Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian in the semi-finals.

Pearly-Thinaah, unable to elevate their game, were defeated 14-21, 17-21 by the world No. 7 pair at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou on Saturday (July 26).

It marks the world No. 3 duo's fourth defeat to Yifan and Shuxian in five meetings.
