IPOH: The state government has banned the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages at all Thaipusam procession locations here from Feb 10 to 12.

State Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs and National Integration Committee chairman A. Sivanesan said the ban was implemented following complaints about unpleasant incidents involving devotees and visitors during previous celebrations.
