Phillip Schofield has revealed that he ‘doesn’t know if he’ll ever work on TV again’ and feels he’s ‘lost everything’.

After ending his 21-year tenure with This Morning, the television host disclosed he had an affair with a young former male colleague while still married to his wife.

And the fallout has been significant as Schofield was dropped by his talent agency and booted out of a charity founded in 1976 by King Charles III.

His long-time ITV co-host Holly Willoughby also issued a statement after the news broke, revealing how ‘hurt’ she was for Schofield deceiving her about the affair.

“It’s taken time to process yesterday’s news,” she penned over the weekend.

"When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not.

"It’s been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie."

Schofield has now sat down with The Sun, sharing with the outlet that he is ‘utterly broken’.

“I am in a very bad way. Mentally, utterly, utterly broken,” he told the outlet.

“And if it hadn’t been for my girls last week I wouldn’t be here.”

He added upon learning he had been kicked by The King’s Trust, he was ‘heart broken’.

“I’ve lost everything. It’s all gone. Telly was my safe space, the one thing I loved. Now I don’t know if I will ever work on telly again,” he continued.

“I don’t know what my identity is any more. I don’t know who I am now. What happens in six months time? What am I going to do?

"I have the rest of my life now to try and plan for Steph and the girls, and hope that I can look after them.”

In a separate interview with The Sun, the television personality said that while he is 'ashamed', he claimed he didn’t ‘groom’ the young man.

He added that the relationship was ‘consensual’ and ‘mutual’.

Schofield’s former lover was just 15 when he met him.

At the time, the teen asked Schofield for a job in TV, and he later arranged an interview for him.

It ultimately led to him serving as a production assistant at ITV when he turned 18, shortly before the affair began.
