KUALA LUMPUR: The elderly woman found murdered and stuffed in a freezer died from chest injuries caused by blunt force trauma, said city police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa.

He said the police had yet to receive the full post-mortem report.

"The initial findings confirm that the victim's death was due to blunt force trauma to the chest," he said.

He also confirmed that the suspect, who was discharged from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre yesterday evening, was currently in custody at the Brickfields police lockup.

The suspect has been remanded until Nov 26 to assist with further investigations.
