SEREMBAN: Police have intensified enforcement at Persiaran Seremban 2 in Centrio after a video showing illegal street racing went viral on social media.
The footage, which surfaced two days ago, showed crowds gathering to watch dangerous stunts involving cars and motorcycles.
Seremban police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the district police had been monitoring such activities in the area since 2023, including conducting Op Samseng Jalanan.
"We detected a recent Facebook post showing members of the public gathering at the same location to watch dangerous driving by both car and motorcycle users.

"Loud engine and exhaust noises were also reportedly disturbing nearby residents," he said yesterday.
Hatta said police conducted six operations under Op Samseng Jalanan between 2023 and 2025 in the area.
"A total of 313 summonses were issued to motorcyclists and car drivers for various offences.
"Eight vehicles, including motorcycles and cars, were seized, and eight individuals were arrested under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving," he said.
Hatta said monitoring efforts also revealed traders operating in prohibited areas, which encouraged more people to gather there.
"The public is advised not to treat the area as a hangout spot or engage in activities that may disturb public order," he said.
Police, he said, would continue to observe and monitor the area closely, and enforcement action would be taken where necessary to ensure the comfort and safety of residents.
