KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist fled the scene following a collision with a car in Jalan Kuchai Lama recently.

The incident gained attention after a video of it was circulated on TikTok. .

The footage shows a man wearing a black jacket and blue helmet dropping his motorcycle on the road and running away.

City Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa confirmed receiving a police report.

"A 31-year-old man lodged a report at 2.20am on Aug 30 over the accident which occurred at 11.30pm on Aug 29.

"The complainant claims his car was involved in an accident with a motorcycle at the traffic light junction in Jalan Kuchai Lama," he said in a statement.

Checks revealed the motorcycle was registered to a 29-year-old foreign man.

"To date, no police report has been lodged by the motorcycle owner.

"Efforts are being made to trace the whereabouts of the owner," he added.

The case was classified under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving without due care and attention or reasonable consideration for other road users.
