KUANTAN: Police are actively seeking a local woman to assist in the investigation of an incident in which a sales assistant was allegedly hypnotised into surrendering her jewellery on Nov 14.

Kuantan police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu confirmed that authorities were trying to locate Siti Rohani Ahmad, 42, in connection with the case, which is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.

"We believe the female suspect was involved in tricking the victim into handing over her jewellery.
