Police seek to identify gunmen behind Cheras Mall double murder

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have stepped up efforts to identify and track down the suspects involved in the fatal shooting of two men outside a Cheras shopping mall.
Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan added that authorities have yet to determine whether the suspects may have fled the country.
"Necessary action was being taken to identify those involved in the case.
"To date, no arrests have been made but the murder investigation is ongoing," he said when contacted today.

According to news reports, initial investigations into the recent shootings in Brickfields and Cheras suggest possible links to secret societies.
It remains unclear at this stage whether the suspects were acting as hired individuals.
The shooting in Cheras occurred on June 17 in front of a convenience shop outside a shopping mall.
It involved a group of men clad in black ski masks. The incident led to the deaths of two local men in their 40s.
On June 13, a man was killed and two others injured after they were shot while eating at a restaurant in Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields.
In the 10.50pm incident, the three men, aged between 30 and 50, were dining with several friends when the group was approached by two men on a motorcycle.
The two suspects then fired several shots at the group. One of the victims died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
