Hong Kong singer and actor Stephanie Lai Ming-sze, who had several popular Cantopop hits in the 1990s, passed away from cancer today (March 28) at the age of 58, according to Chinese media reports.

Lai made her debut in the 1980s and released her first Cantonese album Besame in 1991. That year, she won Gold for New Female Singer at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards. She was also awarded the Bronze in the Most Popular Newcomer category at the 1991 Jade Solid Gold awards. Her better-known hits were songs like Goodbye My Love, Long That Cannot Be Stopped, and Unconditional Love.
