After battling cancer for two years, popular Korean YouTuber Dawn Lee passed away on Sunday (May 30). She was 30.
The Korea Times reported that her agency informed of her death via Instagram.
Lee, whose full name is Lee Jung-yoo, shared back in February 2019 that she had been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer, and that it was terminal.
However, she vowed to stay positive and shared the journey of her battling the disease on her YouTube channel and Instagram.
The article also shared a quote when Lee appeared on a talk show in November last year.
"I was feeling severe pain in my armpits and the surrounding chest and arm area, which I later found out to be cancer in my lymph nodes.
“By the time I went to the hospital, I was already at stage four. I underwent rounds of chemotherapy and had to shave my head," she said.
On April 15, Lee uploaded her last video where she spoke about receiving bad news from her doctor and that she had a mental breakdown for a couple days.
However, she added in the video: “But I've decided not to worry about what hasn't happened yet and have a pleasant day today, stay healthy tomorrow, and stay happy the day after tomorrow."
