Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong comments on Israel’s response to the Hamas attacks.
He notes that while Israel has a right to defend itself, it must comply with international law, minimise civilian losses and address humanitarian concerns. He also cited the views of a group of prominent Jewish international jurists who had urged Israel to be restrained in its response. He was responding to questions on the situation in Gaza at the Media Wrap-up with Singapore Media in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 20 October 2023. He was on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 17 to 20 October 2023.
