Prince Harry gave an insight into his reunion with King Charles after previously expressing about “how much longer” his father has left.

Hours after a brief meeting with his father at Clarence House, Harry was asked about Charles during an engagement for his Invictus Games Foundation on Wednesday, September 10. “Yes, he’s great, thank you,” the 40-year-old said.

According to reports, Harry spent around 55 minutes with his father at the King’s London residence. Spokespeople for the King, 77, and for the Duke of Sussex said the pair met and had tea but said no further details about the engagement would be revealed.

The reunion, which was their first since February 2024, comes after Harry candidly revealed his fears about his father’s mortality in a May 2025 interview with BBC.

Harry said at the time that he wanted to repair his relationship with his family but things remained fraught amid his legal battle to retain royal security in the UK, a perk that was stripped in 2020 when he left the Royal Family.

“There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,” he added, but had now “forgiven” them.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious,” said Harry, adding that the dispute over his security had “always been the sticking point.”

Harry and Charles last met after the King disclosed his cancer diagnosis, revealing that he had been treated for a benign enlarged prostate that January. His treatment for cancer continued throughout 2024 and into this year.

Charles gave a rare update about his health during a September 3 meeting with patients at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick. Per Hello, the King told one patient, “I’m not too bad,” when asked about his recovery.

“I know, this is the terrible thing, as I am discovering already. The bits don’t work so well when you get past 70,” he also said at the event.
