KUALA LUMPUR (July 1): Legal and human rights expert from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Prof Datuk Dr Rahmat Mohamad has been appointed the new chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM). 

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, in a statement Friday (July 1), said Rahmat’s appointment, along with seven more new SUHAKAM members for the 2022-2025 term, took effect on June 22, after receiving the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
