Punggol Coast Hawker Centre Now Open with 40 Stalls Including Old Favourites & Trendy Newcomers
Feast your way through all 40 stalls at Punggol Coast’s fresh new hawker centre
The long-anticipated Punggol Coast Hawker Centre has officially opened its doors, bringing with it a vibrant mix of culinary tradition and modern flair.
Nestled in the heart of the Punggol Digital District, this new food hub features 40 stalls and 576 seats, with each corner buzzing from opening day.
One of the most talked-about returns is the revival of South Buona Vista Braised Duck. After shuttering in early 2024 due to rising rents, this 50-year-old “lost and found” gem is back in action. In fact, by mid-morning on launch day, queues had already formed outside the stall.
Also drawing foodies in are acclaimed local favourites like Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee from Whampoa Drive— a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand awardee— as well as Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle, and Whampoa Traditional Fried Oyster.
These household names have built reputations on consistency and flavour, and their presence gives the hawker centre a strong anchor.
It’s not all heritage. What The Puff!, Hee Hee Hee Steamed Fish & Seafood, and Munchi Pancakes are part of a younger generation of hawkers adding a creative twist to the mix. Judging by the lines forming at Munchi Pancakes, Singapore’s taste for nostalgic snacks with modern flair is only growing stronger.
Other newcomers like Tidjai Thai Food, Chicky Papa, and Dosa Delight have also seen steady crowds, suggesting that the blend of international flavours and local eats is hitting the right note with residents.
Managed by Kopitiam, the hawker centre offers more than just food. Spacious walkways, high ceilings, and thoughtful seating arrangements make it a welcoming space for all ages. It also pilots smart AI-driven tech to streamline queue management and support stall operations— a quiet nod to the district’s digital future.
