FALSE

The police have confirmed that the discovery of a decomposed body in a vehicle at a shopping mall parking lot in the capital, which went viral on social media recently, actually occurred in January.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman, stated that the report was received on Jan 25 at around 5.07pm.

"Investigations found no criminal elements in this case, and it has been classified as sudden death (SDR).

"However, the full post-mortem results are still pending the laboratory report," he said in a statement on Friday (March 14).

The investigation was conducted with the assistance of the Forensic Unit of the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department before the body was sent to the Forensic and Pathology Department of Kuala Lumpur Hospital for an autopsy.

"The public is advised not to circulate old cases as this can cause confusion and concern within the community. We urge the public to verify the authenticity of information before sharing it on social media," he added.
