ALOR STAR: The state government is hoping that the request for an allocation of RM41 million for the development and future research of the Sungai Batu Archaeological Site in Merbok will be approved.

State Tourism, Culture, and Entrepreneurship, executive council member Datuk Mohd Salleh Saidin said the request has been submitted through the National Heritage Department (JWN) to the Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry (Motac).
