Reese Witherspoon announced her “beautiful” July 2025 book club pick, and we’ve searched around for the lowest possible price.

On July 1, Witherspoon revealed that her July 2025 recommendation in her Reese Book Club is Spectacular Things by Beck Dorey-Stein, calling it “a beautiful read.” In an Instagram post announcing the pick, The Hello Sunshine founder said, “It’s about making big sacrifices for your family.”

“Think sisterhood, sacrifice, and the golden age of women’s soccer all wrapped into one epic story,” the post’s caption adds.

Spectacular Things follows sisters Mia and Cricket as they push the boundaries of unconditional love. The book, which has been praised as “witty, heartfelt” by The New York Times, is an examination of what we owe to our siblings and what we’re willing to sacrifice to achieve our ambitions.

We searched high and low for the book at the best possible price and compiled some options below, but, spoiler alert, it’s cheapest on Target.

Spectacular Things is Dorey-Stein’s second fiction novel, following up 2021’s Rock the Boat and her 2018 best-selling memoir, From the Corner of the Oval, which chronicles her time as a White House stenographer under President Barack Obama and, briefly, under President Donald Trump.

Spectacular Things is Witherspoon’s seventh book club pick of 2025 and succeeds June’s pick, The Phoenix Pencil Company, a debut novel from Allison King.
