PETALING JAYA: Men doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik are guaranteed at least a bronze medal after reaching the World Championships semi-finals in New Delhi on Friday (Aug 21).

The fourth seeds comfortably beat China’s world No. 26 Hu Keyuan-Lin Xiangyi 21-11, 21-17 in the quarter-finals at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

On Thursday, Aaron-Wooi Yik had a free ride into the quarter-finals after Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun withdrew from the tournament, due to diarrhoea. 

Aaron-Wooi Yik will face either defending champions Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae of South Korea or fellow Malaysians Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in the semi-finals on Saturday (Aug 22).
