Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-serving monarch of the United Kingdom, died on September 8. She was 96. The late Queen has led an illustrious life since she ascended the throne in 1952 and has presided over 15 British prime ministers — starting with Winston Churchill and ending with Liz Truss, whom she appointed a few days before her death.
