Rethink new PSLE scoring system to allow joy of learning to take root
Today·2020-11-24 20:01
I echo Mr Lim Wei Yi’s sentiments in his commentary, “PSLE revamp — don’t neglect the ‘average’ student” (Nov 12).
We are still fixated on testing a student's ability to score.
The new Achievement Level (AL) scoring system will replace T-scores in the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) from next year.

It hve been updated that next year the PSLE could be a whole new ball game, where the goal is less to maximise the score to gain entry into a few choice schools, and more on finding schools that can cultivate her extracurricular interests and attract like-minded peers.

Look at the current education system and those extracurricular classes the children are going thru now. So stressful

Quite true. Look at the runaway cases of teenagers recent years, commit suicide cases and many more.
