Ringgit ends higher against US dollar on renewed risk appetite

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit ended the week higher against the US dollar on Friday, supported by renewed risk appetite following reports of a possible reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.
At 6 pm, the local currency rose to 3.9625/9670 against the greenback from Thursday's close of 3.9770/9805.
