PETALING JAYA: Penang teenager Kong Wei Xiang is emerging as one of Malaysia’s brightest badminton prospects after capturing the Under-21 boys’ singles national title in Ipoh yesterday.

The 17-year-old showcased his talent by defeating Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) teammate Mohd Haziq Najib 15-13, 16-14 in the final at the Perak Badminton Association hall.
