Royal Family Makes Rare Public Comment After TV Stars Recreate Meghan Markle Dance
The royals are taking a bow for these moves.
After Made in Chelsea alums Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo took part in the viral “Baby Mama Dance,” which Meghan Markle famously busted down to, the royal family’s official Instagram account had a cheeky remark under the June 25 video.
As Sophie, donning a yellow gown, showed off her baby bump on the velvet steps at Buckingham Palace, Jamie danced around his wife to the Mic Drop Mama song. The latter captioned the Instagram clip, which was taken at a celebration for The King’s Trust charity, “They said we couldn’t film” inside the royal residence.
The royal family’s IG commented with the eyes emoji and a winking emoji, “We see you.”
It wasn’t the only royal account to chime in as the King Charles-founded charity also teased, “All of our attendees are very well-behaved.”
The royally sweet video comes three weeks after Meghan shared a throwback video—in which she was pregnant at the hospital with husband Prince Harry as they waited for Princess Lilibet to arrive—in honor of their daughter’s birthday.
“Four years ago today, this also happened,” the Suits alum—who also shares son Archie, 6, with Harry—gushed on Instagram June 4. “Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work - there was only one thing left to do!”
And it wasn’t the only glimpse into motherhood Meghan showed on Lilibet’s 4th birthday. In fact, she posted a sweet photo snuggled up with her little one while on a boat ride in a separate post.
“Happy birthday to our beautiful girl,” she wrote. “Four years ago today she came into our lives - and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!”
For the As Ever founder, being a mom has added a joy sweeter than her fruit jams. And it’s something that she always prioritizes.
"I know that they'll feel like, 'Oh, my gosh, no one has ever loved someone more than the way our mom loved us,'" she said on The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April. "I put that in practice. That's part of every day of how I show up for them."
"That's the best part about being a mom," she explained. "It's not about the grandeur of a gesture. It's about, 'I see you. I'm nurturing and I see you so deeply and I love being able to see your growth.' I'm just so proud of them."
