Ryan Reynolds called Betty White the ‘funniest person on the planet’ on her 99th birthday – and provided evidence to back it up.

The Golden Girls star turned 99 on Sunday, and celebrated with hot dogs and fries, feeding the ducks and ‘staying up as late as I want without asking permission’.

Ryan, Betty’s co-star in The Proposal, publicly wishes the actress a happy birthday every year, and this year was no different, as she shares a foul-mouthed exchange with Betty from the set of the 2009 comedy. 

In the hilarious ‘behind the scenes’ video, Ryan and Sandra Bullock were filming footage for DVD extras when Betty walked on set.

Ryan, getting uncomfortable, told Sandra: ‘I don’t have a problem with her, she hates me and I don’t really understand why.’

Sandra said: ‘She’s, like, the nicest person on the planet’, with her co-star responding: ‘To you, maybe, to me she’s a complete c***.’

Betty then sits next to Ryan, who she calls Brian, and demands a cup of coffee, saying: ‘Damn, you’ve been a terrible assistant that whole time.’

When Ryan explained that he wasn’t an assistant, Betty said: ‘When Betty White says she wants a cup of coffee, you f***ing get her a cup of coffee. You ab-crunching jackass.’
