We in Singapore mix freely with all races and dialect groups without prejudice from school age. Multilingual skills comes naturally without much effort, so we don't understand what the fuss is about. Until we learn that people in most counties speak only one or two languages. I myself speak 7 local languages and dialects, and still don't understand what the huha is all about!

Too much exposure might create and invite trouble to yourself. Stay humble and have a low profile.
