S'pore Pedestrians Help Confused-Looking Silkie Chicken To Cross Road Safely; May Have Saved It From Becoming Roadkill

While it's not unusual to see jungle fowlstrutting around Singapore’s residential areas, silkie chickens are becoming more common as well.

In a Xiaohongshu video, two pedestrians were spotted carefully guiding a fluffy silkie chicken bird across the road at night saving it from possibly becoming roadkill.

It is unclear where the incident happened.

However, in the 30-second clip, one of the pedestrians can be heard anxiously yelling in a Singaporean accent, “Go in front, chicken! No! Don’t go towards the vehicle! Hey!”

At one point, the bird even paused to look at its surroundings as the pedestrian exasperatedly shouted, “Cross the road!”.

“Okay, don’t die!” he exclaimed with a sigh of relief after the chicken made it safely across.

Also, when did chickens start becoming nocturnal? And more importantly, did someone lose a costly member of their flock?

Netizens were tickled by the sight, with some jokingly saying that it looked as if the pedestrian was helping an elderly uncle cross the road.

“The bird looked like it was pulling its pants up as it crossed the road," a netizen commented, referring to the chook's feathery legs.

After this intense episode  with the chicken, we want to know if they found out why it crossed the road?
