SG tech firm Omni HR makes first acquisition
Omni HR has acquired MajuHR, a Singapore-based HR software company, for an undisclosed sum.
This is Omni HR’s first acquisition as it looks to expand its presence in the region’s HR technology sector.
Both companies are based in Singapore.
MajuHR offers HR software that lets employees manage tasks like leave requests and payslip checks via chat apps such as WhatsApp.
Omni HR said MajuHR’s customers will be integrated into its platform.
Omni HR provides cloud-based HR and payroll solutions across Asia. It raised US$7.4 million in 2024 and has secured a total of US$9.8 million to date. Its backers include Picus Capital and Alpha JWC Ventures.
The company plans to further localize its products and explore new partnerships and product extensions.

Omni HR’s acquisition represents part of a wider consolidation trend happening across Asia’s HR technology sector.
Other recent deals include PeopleStrong acquiring performance management firm Qilo in 2019, and ABeam Consulting acquiring Emiritis’ Asia Pacific practice to strengthen its HR consulting capabilities12.
This M&A activity reflects the inherent fragmentation of Asia’s HR tech landscape, where regional compliance requirements and diverse cultural needs have created numerous specialized providers serving specific markets or functions.
The $6.4 billion Asian HR software market mentioned in the deal demonstrates significant scale, but it remains divided among many players rather than dominated by a few large platforms3.
Companies like Omni HR are betting that combining complementary capabilities, in this case multi-country compliance expertise with chat-native user interfaces, can create more comprehensive solutions than individual providers can offer alone.
The timing of Omni HR’s acquisition aligns with remarkable growth projections for Southeast Asia’s HR software market, which is expected to expand at a 15% annual growth rate through 203045.
This growth rate significantly exceeds the broader Asia Pacific region’s projected 6.29% annual growth, suggesting Southeast Asia represents a particularly attractive opportunity within the larger Asian market3.
The growth is driven by increasing digital transformation initiatives and government support for HR technology adoption, particularly among small and medium enterprises that constitute 97% of Southeast Asian businesses64.
Cloud-based HR solutions are gaining particular traction due to their scalability and flexibility, which explains why platforms like Omni HR that offer automated workflows across multiple countries are attracting both funding and acquisition opportunities4.
The market’s expansion from $578.4 million in 2024 to a projected $1.34 billion by 2030 indicates that companies entering through acquisition today are positioning themselves for a market that will more than double in size over the next six years4.
