KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — It’s 2024 and SMS scams are still a thing. Last year, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) issued a directive to all telcos to block SMS containing URLs. Fast forward a year later, it appears that scammers could circumvent the measures and are now sending SMS, pretending to be “Maxis”.
