A black-and-white community cat was discovered dead at Block 510A Yishun Street 51 on 1 Jun 2025.

The discovery occurred less than a month after King Kong, another community cat, was found tortured to death in the same vicinity.

The carcass was found near King Kong’s memorial in the void deck of Block 511A. Both blocks are located in Yishun Oleander Breeze, a cluster of 12 blocks along Yishun Street 51.

Photos of the deceased cat were shared in the Sayang Our Singapore’s Community Cats Facebook group on Sunday.

Abnormal Body Position Raises Animal Abuse Suspicions

The cat’s body was found lying on the staircase at the ground floor of the HDB block.

The hind legs were splayed open and pointing in different directions, contrasting sharply with the front legs which both pointed in the same direction.

The cat’s head was tilted upward with its body lying on its side. Lumps of brownish substance, identified as faeces, were found next to the carcass.

Netizens expressed shock and sadness over the discovery. Many suspected animal abuse due to the abnormal leg positioning and the proximity to where King Kong was found.

Some commenters noted they had never seen this particular cat in the area before.

Others insisted that the photo-taker report the death to authorities and suggested setting up residents’ patrols to catch potential culprits.

Fourth Community Cat Death in Recent Weeks

This incident marks at least the fourth community cat death in recent weeks across Singapore. King Kong was found dead on a road on 9 May 2025 with his eyes gouged out, his body cut up, and his organs split.
