Prince William and Kate Middleton are relocating to a luxury mansion that they’re hoping to make their “forever home,” and we have photos of the stunning property.

On August 16, it was confirmed that William and Kate plan to move their family to Forest Lodge in Windsor before Christmas, swapping their four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage home for an eight-bedroom property four miles away.

The home will serve as the full-time residence for the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children: George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7.

Forest Lodge is an eight-bedroom Grade II listed Georgian property originally built in the 1770s. It is located in a secluded part of the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park. It is owned by the King’s Crown Estate — King Charles’ opulent real estate portfolio — and is said to be worth up to £16 million if it were listed on the open market. That amounts to over $20 million.

According to the Historic England website, the red-brick 19th-century home boasts details including Venetian windows, marble fireplaces, a hallway with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, and ornate stucco moulding.

However, Kate and Will appear to be making some changes to the property before they move in. According to The Independent, a June planning application submitted and approved by the local council requested permission for works including new doors and windows, stripping out internal walls, renovated ceilings, and new floors.

According to reports, the couple is embracing a new change after a difficult few years in their Adelaide Cottage home amid Kate’s battle with cancer. “This is a move for the long term,” a source told The Sun. “They see it as their forever home.”

However, the planned move is reportedly causing some upset in the surrounding area after two neighbors were asked to vacate their properties ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s move-in date.

“They were told to move out. I guess they were given somewhere else, but they were told they had to move,” a source said. “They were not expecting it. Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they’re not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there.”
